Mexico. With a population larger than that of New York and its picturesque and indefatigable pace of life, the capital of Mexico lives up to its reputation as a "Mega City" in the North American region. Nothing escapes its incessant activity, including its vibrant nightlife that features countless world-class clubs. And one of the crown jewels of this nightlife is Hyde, a gathering point for "pretty people" from all over the world.
Decorated with color-changing LED panels and Swarovski chandeliers, the club makes a powerful visual impression on its visitors. Recently that visual impact was intensified thanks to the installation of a new lighting system that included 32 luminaires from the CHAUVET Professional Rogue series.
Rodrigo Molina of 'Light Moxion' was in charge of implementing the new lighting system, with a lighting design by the renowned LD Michael Meacham of 'iDesign Productions' based in Miami, with which they managed to print high doses of movement and energy to the popular club, in which famous DJs from Las Vegas are regularly presented, New York and Europe. Molina and Meacham's project occupied 16 Rogue RH1 Hybrid and 16 Rogue R2 Beam that were installed on the dance floor and the performance area of the guest artists.
For the new lighting design, two circular structures were placed concentrically in the middle of the ceiling, around a huge chandelier, in which the 32 moving heads were installed to fill the environment with energy with powerful beams of light that seem to cut the atmosphere of the club with fast and precise movements.
The structures are also motorized to change their height and inclination independently and create different appearances at night. Additionally, the Rogue RH1 Hybrid's prism overlay feature allowed Molina and Meacham to add depth to the designs. The fog effect of the environment generated by a pair of Amhaze II machines further accentuates the impact of the Rogue's beams of light.
Molina spoke about the ins and outs of the installation. "The system that was previously installed in the club included moving heads from CHAUVET DJ's Intimidator series, and the administration was very pleased with the operation and reliability of these equipment," Molina said. "When the decision was finally made to upgrade the lighting platform, equipment from several brands, including the Rogue series, was considered. The decision really wasn't that difficult, especially considering the good previous experience with other teams of the brand, and the cost-benefit ratio they offer."
"The new Rogue equipment produces powerful and very defined beams of light," said Rodrigo. "I must also emphasize that from the beginning of the process the people of Chauvet de México accompanied us and gave us all the support to obtain the extraordinary result we have achieved. One of the valuable 'extras' that we got from him, was that we were contacted with the famous LD Michael Meacham, who with his international experience achieved a spectacular and immersive lighting design. Michael's sense of commitment was incredible."
"The amazing result achieved is part of a great effort and collaboration," said Abraham Levit, Director of Chauvet de Mexico. "We have received many comments praising the impact of the Hyde's new design. It's very stimulating to see a club that is already at a high level take the initiative and strive to climb to a higher level."
