Latin America. Shure launched its KSM8 Dualdyne Cardioid Dynamic Vocal Microphone. An innovative feat in design engineering, the KSM8 is the world's first dynamic dual-diaphragm microphone, enabling revolutionary vocal reproduction as well as precise sound reinforcement and control.
Designed for live sound presentations where vocal clarity and sound quality are absolutely critical, the KSM8 not only meets the highest standards of quality and reliability, but also has the versatility to adapt to changing environments without impacting performance.
The KSM8 will revolutionize dynamic microphones in the live sound industry by giving sound engineers a dynamic microphone with virtually no proximity effect, off-axis rejection mastery, and signal clarity without processing typical of a condenser microphone, with the feedback control of a dynamic microphone. Offering unmatched vocal reproduction, the KSM8's design virtually eliminates the need for equalization and processing.
Meticulously crafted for exceptional vocal reproduction and sound reinforcement control for top-notch live performances on professional stages, the KSM8 incorporates the purest cardioid polar pattern developed by Shure to date, offering more consistent control, no matter the presenter's microphone technique.
"Being part of the resurgence of dynamic microphones has been extremely exciting for me, as our customers always asked us what would come in dynamic microphones," said Scott Sullivan, Senior Director of Global Product Management at Shure. "When it comes to technology and microphone development, Shure has what I consider the 'secret formula'. In my opinion, no other company, through our exceptional engineering department, could have achieved what we achieved with the KSM8."
The ability to virtually eliminate the proximity effect and master off-axis rejection is made possible by the KSM8's patented Dualdyne capsule, which incorporates two ultra-thin diaphragms, one active and one passive, and an innovative inverted airflow system. In addition, its pneumatic damper support offers exceptional rejection for noise handling without any loss of response in low frequency.
As with all Shure products, the KSM8's first-class design and durability are present in every aspect of the microphone. Its shock-resistant hardened carbon steel grille, clad in a hydrophobic woven fabric, provides exceptional protection against unwanted noise and wind, while offering virtually waterproof protection. Its aluminium chassis, available with nickel or black finishes, completes the clear and sophisticated design aesthetics of the KSM8, a perfect complement to any scenario.
The KSM8 is also available as a wireless transmitter for use with the Axient, UHF-R, ULX-D, and QLX-D wireless systems, and as a wireless capsule for use with other Shure wireless systems. In addition, new nickel-finished KSM8 transmitters are now offered for ULX-D and UHF-R wireless systems.
