Latin America. Christie announced the launch of the Christie Vive Audio LS Series: 4-way screen channel speakers, and 2-way surround speakers. The LS Series display channel speakers incorporate the planar ribbon driver technology, characterized by its low distortion and excellent transient response.
Conceived with a single box design, they are particularly suitable for most 5.1 and 7.1 distributed sound applications. With unparalleled timbral leveling between the screen and surround channels, the LS Series boxes provide economical access to high-level cinematic sound. Christie demonstrated the stunning sound of the LS Series in CinemaCon's Milano 1 Ballroom.
For Phil Sanchez, senior product manager, Christie, "Vive Audio's LS Series, which has been developed on the experience of Christie Vive Audio's LA Series of cinema speakers, is ideal for audio applications distributed in small and medium-sized auditoriums. The design excellence of the LS Series boxes allows exhibitors and integrators to use smaller amplifier configurations, which does not affect power and does result in greater cost savings."
The LS Vive Audio Series catalog consists of six models: the LS1 and LS2 display channel speakers, and the LS1S, LS2S, LS4S and LS5S surround channel speakers. The airship waveguides of the LS Series display channels allow them to be deployed in low-profile installations or as corner surrounds in large 5.1 applications.
Their unique box design makes them easy to install and reduce labor costs, and their shallow depth allows them to be mounted even in minimal spaces behind the screen. But in addition, being manufactured by Christie, the LS Series speakers are the perfect complement to the brand's multi-award-winning digital cinema projection systems and, combined with them, offer a complete film exhibition solution from a single manufacturer.
Helios S.A., the largest film exhibition chain in Poland, has just confirmed its intention to carry out a new Christie Vive Audio installation, using the LA Online Matrix Series in its Dolby Atmos room, equipping the rest of the rooms with the new LS Linear Source Series, a recently launched 4-way screen channel speaker system and 2-way surround speakers.
