Latin America. Sennheiser will join the new GoPro Developer Program, which equips third-party vendors with toolkits to connect their products with GoPro cameras and develop integrated solutions.
As part of this partnership, Sennheiser introduced new products from its audio labs that will allow GoPro users to match stunning images captured in extreme conditions with incredible high audio quality. The audio specialist is introducing the upcoming VR mic and – for the first time – a new all-in-one microphone for action.
"It is truly exciting to be among the first to join the GoPro Developer Program to create audio-visual experiences that will transform our ability to share and experience our world," said Dr. Andrea Sennheiser, CEO of Sennheiser. "By working with the GoPro toolkit we will be able to develop solutions that will enhance the unique images that GoPro cameras can capture through our audio expertise. I am looking forward with genuine excitement to see the incredible and creative work that will result when we give the world's most creative and courageous people new potential to see, hear and explore."
Sennheiser's new products will ensure uninterrupted ease of use and optimal performance – even in the harshest conditions.
Virtual Reality Microphone
With an increase in users creating virtual reality content with GoPro cameras, Sennheiser's upcoming AMBEO VR microphone will prove to be the perfect companion. Developed in conjunction with Virtual Reality (VR) content producers, the VR microphone is a compact solution that captures high audio quality in four quadrants. With a dedicated GoPro version in development, the new microphone will seamlessly enter the live VR recording workflow to bring a new dimension of realistic audio in VR environments. The VR microphone will be released in the fourth quarter of 2016.
A new all-in-one microphone for Sennheiser action
As it makes its first appearance at the GoPro event, Sennheiser will offer a first look at the new action microphone created especially for GoPro users, which will bring the audio specialist's sound recording excellence into a venturous new territory. Based on a lavalier design, the new microphone is waterproof and almost immune to snow, ice and wind, thanks to a special windshield (protection). As a result you will be able to take care of virtually anything the elements can throw at you, enhancing the GoPro's images with incredible high audio quality – even during extreme sports activities such as surfing, mountaineering and mountain biking.
"We are thrilled to welcome Sennheiser into the GoPro Developer Program," said Adam Silver, Director of Strategic Product Collaboration at GoPro. "Sennheiser has created exciting new functionality for our customers together, delivering high-quality audio capabilities to make video experiences look, sound and feel even more vividly compelling."
