Panama/United States. As the Panama Canal Authority or ACP advances a seven-year, seven-year, $5.25 billion canal expansion project, ViewCast Corporation's solutions will play an important role in historical documentation and public information. The ACP has chosen ViewCast's Niagara® 7224 video encoding system for the networked flow of a wide variety of live and on-demand programming related to the expansion project, and to offer training to the more than 9,000 ACP employees.
The ACP is a long-time user of ViewCast products. For many years, the organization has used ViewCast's Osprey® 100 video capture cards to capture webcam footage of ships passing through the Channel's three sets of locks. Still in use, the system provides updated images for the ACP website every 10 seconds.
