Chile. Two Television production companies and two Chilean universities have recently invested in the modernization of their recording systems with the purchase of the HVS-300HS portable HS/SD switcher from video equipment manufacturer, FOR-A.The first of these production companies to acquire this equipment was the entertainment channel Chilevisión, which since 2009 has purchased four devices to be used in its own productions and as a backup in larger control rooms. On the performance of the device, Luis Silva, technical director of Chilevisión, believes that "it offers a comprehensive solution that allows us to save time, money and effort. They are very well functioning as backups and our engineers rely on their technology."
In turn, Broadeyes Television Productions installed one of the HVS-300HS in its truck for HD transmission, making it the first vehicle of its kind in this country. The education market has also benefited from this device, as is the case of the Central University of Chile in Santiago and the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso.
