International. The German manufacturer Opel presented the new intelligent lighting system for its vehicles, called LED Matrix, which through LED lights and cameras directly adjusts the external lighting of the car.
One of the main novelties of the Matrix LED is that it suppresses short lights and always maintains long ones. With the cameras, installed on the front and in the rearview mirror, it detects if cars are coming and dims the lighting when necessary.
The company explained that what is sought is to automate the lighting, to avoid inconvenience to the drivers who are on the roads and so that the driver of the car that has this technology is focused on driving and on the obstacles that may be found on the road, without worrying about the lights.
The Open Eyes cameras, which uses the intelligent system, are also responsible for regulating the lighting of the car depending on the external needs that are required on the road. In addition, the use of LED lighting makes the system more efficient and with low energy consumption.
Opel reported that LED Matrix will be available in its vehicles from next year.
