Argentina. A master class on live sound was the one that attendees of the Venue Tour 2012 could receive, which for this Latin American version had the participation of Robert Scovill, winner of six "Tec Awards" as best Live Mixing Engineer.
Robert Scovill developed basic concepts about sound for live shows, which he alternated with anecdotes from his experience as a sound engineer for different artists throughout his professional career.
He used for his presentation a Venue SC48 Remote console and another Venue Profile, equipped with 4 DSP cards, plus all the plug-ins that include the Venue systems and a Pro Tools HD Native system connected to the Venue via Digilink, without the need for extra interfaces, from which he played previously recorded live sessions of Tom Petty.
For the sound of the room, a Meyer UPJ system with two boxes per side and a subwoofer provided by the CCGSM was used. 3 screens were used on which the Venue D-Show software, the Pro Tools HD and the image of the control surface of the Venue Profile were projected, on which Robert Scovill's hands could be seen operating.
The event, held at the facilities of the General San Martín Cultural Center in the city of Buenos Aires, was organized by the representatives of Avid for Latin America, Avid Latin America Angel Ylisastigui and Ricardo Mantini, as well as by Digital Audio Group, through Diego Pérez and Ricardo Pegnotti.
