Latin America. Verizon Cloud is the new infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform and cloud-based object storage service. With this solution, the company changes the way public clouds are built.
Large corporations, medium and small development companies will have the agility and economic benefits of a generic public cloud, along with the reliability and scale of an enterprise service, with control over performance.
Verizon Cloud has two main components: Cloud Compute and Cloud Storage. Verizon Cloud Compute is the IaaS platform. Verizon Cloud Storage is the object storage service.
With Cloud Compute, virtual machines (computers and software servers) can be created and deployed in seconds and the user builds and pays only what they need. In addition, users can configure virtual machine and network performance, resulting in predictable performance of critical applications, even at peak demand.
Cloud Storage is a multi-tenant storage platform for addressable objects that offers secure, durable, reliable and cost-effective storage from anywhere on the web. Object storage is extra robust and has a large web traffic capacity, making it the ideal solution for cloud-based applications.
John Stratton, president of Verizon Enterprise Solutions, said, "This is the revolution in cloud services that enterprises were asking for. Feedback from our enterprise customers around the world has served to build a cloud platform that has all the attributes they needed from the ground up."
