Latin America. Christie announced the launch of a front-access video wall cube, which allows high-performance rear-projection displays without divisions and minimizes space needs for installation and maintenance.
It is a platform that allows you to locate the cubes of the videowall directly against the wall, which eliminates the requirement of having space for maintenance behind the display. The first cube model with front access, the Christie Entero HB of 70 inches HD will be followed by others with that same appearance: the SXGA of 50 and 70 inches and the WUXGA of 72 inches.
The new front access design solves previous spatial limitations due to the possibility of placing the cubes against a wall without affecting performance, image quality or reliability. This possibility will allow the customer to gain a very valuable space in the control room, an advantage to which is added the division between narrower screens in the industry and the use of an intelligent air circulation design at the service of a superior ventilation system.
The design intention of the front access system is to take full advantage of the user and web interface of the Christie Entero HB systems, allowing the screen to be opened by remote control and offer frontal maintenance, as well as to remotely perform the fine alignment of the geometry through the integrated six-axis geometric alignment system.
With this, both the control of the screen and the geometry are thus carried out by remote control, computer or tablet. The display has a sliding mechanism that opens safely and reliably by remotely activating solenoids, thereby offering full access to internal electronics from the front of the cube array system. The result is fast maintenance and repair and minimal downtime to carry out those tasks.
To access the interior of the system, the installer simply connects to the intuitive user interface on the device of your choice — PC, tablet or even Smartphone — and the system detaches the screen from the module, allowing you to cleanly move the screen away for full front access. The internal electronic module has been adjusted to make the LED display visible from the front. And with no space needed behind the cube, the product is ideal for space-constrained control room environments.
