Latin America. The company Aaronia AG presented a new omniLOG 70600 broadband isotropic antenna. A fish of its wide frequency range from 680MHz to 6GHz, the antenna offers a rare gain for isotropic antennas. It is optimized for GSM/3G and WLan/Wifi bands and offers a gain of up to 6.5dB.
Compared to the log-periodic antennas commonly used for field measurements, the new OmniLOG 70600 antenna is capable of measuring direct and radial field strength. Here, it is not necessary to use the rotation method normally used for the detection of the maximum signal level and that is sometimes very wasteful since the OmniLOG 70600 should not be oriented.
This allows for a considerably faster measurement. The antenna is delivered with its typical calibration data and allows an accurate measurement of the field strength. With the OmniLOG 70600 antenna, the user can detect the field strength directly at any point.
Its small dimensions of only 173 x 62 x 9 mm and its weight of only 54 grams predestine the OmniLOG 70600 for use with small and portable measuring devices. The OmniLOG 70600 has an SMA connector with an innovative high-quality rotating element that allows an inclination of 0 – 90° degrees. With the optionally available adapter it can also be used with any usual spectrum analyzer that has an N connector.
Spectran V4 spectrum analyzers from Aaronia AG already support the OmniLOG 70600 and convert the measured values directly into the field strength. Aaronia's "MCS" PC software also supports the use of the OmniLOG 70600 antenna. Detailed calibration data pre-stored there make it possible to accurately measure the field strength over the full frequency range of 680MHz up to 6 Ghz.
