International. The automaker Audi has always been at the forefront of systems for its vehicles in all areas. Now it's the turn of the audio, so it gave the new reference of its flagship truck, the Q7, with 3D sound.
How does it work? Through an algorithm, the control signals for each speaker are calculated. The software divides the data from the music source into spatial components, using the information contained in the data itself. After identifying the times of the sound reflections, the system reassembles these components so that the sound pattern inside the vehicle corresponds to that of the original recording room.
To achieve this, Audi's 3D sound, a component of Bang & Olufsen's Advanced Sound System and Bose Surround Sound, activates 11 channels with a total of 23 speakers, achieving the same sound quality for each ride.
For the development of this sound technology, Audi counted on the collaboration of the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits in Erlangen.
