Central America. The coastal city of Sonsonate in El Salvador already uses General Electric's LED technology throughout the town's street lighting system. For this, the company has used LightGrid technology, which allows remote control of the total or partial switching on and off of lighting and lighting levels, generating savings in the electricity bill.
The project that has just ended was under the direction of AES Clesa, a company from AES El Salvador, in collaboration with Unitape Latin America and GE Lighting; covering the supply and installation of 4,066 LED luminaires used in the replacement of the Department's light park and the Ana Mercedes Campos Municipal Stadium.
The commitment to lighting by the municipal government will allow this city to guarantee its citizens quality lighting for many years, "said Carina Orellana Director of Large Customers of AES El Salvador
After an in-depth study of the lighting needs to provide Sonsonate with an updated and guaranteed public lighting system, the perfect combination was achieved between the LightGrid system and the ERS and ERX LED luminaire models, integrated in Nema Head and Cobra type luminaires; that highlight the urban landscape. This proposal offers savings of more than 50% in energy consumption, compared to the previous obsolete and depreciated mercury luminaire system; as well as the reduction of maintenance costs.
The system is designed to find the required lighting from road specifications to large highways.
