Latin America. Audinate, creator of Dante, an industry-leading media networking technology, announced the immediate global market launch of its new Dante Via software. After revolutionizing audio-over-IP with the aforementioned Dante network solution, Audinate now decides that both the end user and integrators, consultants and sound engineers in markets around the world must have even easier access to the advantages provided by networking with Dante.
The Dante Via software connects any audio application or device on your computer to a Dante network. With Dante Via, you can add USB, FireWire, or Thunderbolt devices—including microphones, consoles from a variety of sources, or I/O boxes—to a Dante audio network.
The new software also allows you to create a Dante network without the need for branded hardware, offering a simple and straightforward approach to audio routing based exclusively on computers. Thanks to an intuitive and easy-to-use drag-and-drop interface, Dante Via enables quick detection and easy connection of devices and applications.
Dante Via enables integrators, engineers and end users to create audio systems using cost-effective, networked computer I/O peripherals and take them virtually anywhere. For example, a company, school or place of worship that uses a computer equipped with Dante Via on its premises will be able to quickly and flexibly distribute the sound to an adjoining space.
But in addition, the ability offered by Dante Via to connect software applications facilitates the use in a collective installation of personal applications, such as multimedia players. The software isolates an application's audio by removing system sounds from the computer's overall audio output. Thus, a hotel, bar or restaurant can use a Dante Via installed on a computer at the reception to route from there the background music of the lobby or other spaces.
Lee Ellison, CEO of Audinate, said: "Audinate has always maintained a company culture focused on inventing products that facilitate network convergence, and Dante Via is the latest on that list of cutting-edge solutions. Dante Via is that bridge between analog and digital that makes it possible to network, with all ease, literally dragging and dropping, millions of pre-existing USB, Firewire or Thunderbolt devices."
The Dante Via, which has already won important distinctions, including several "Best of Show" awards at InfoComm 2015. Dante Via works on personal computers that have Windows® 7, 8.1 or 10 installed, and on Macs® with OS X10.9.5 or higher. It supports a total of 48 source and 48 target channels, and stereo I/O for up to 8 simultaneous applications.
