The BP40 voice microphone for broadcasts offers a rich and natural, condenser-like sound, thanks to a dynamic large diaphragm design. The large diaphragm features a patented floating edge design that maximizes the diaphragm surface and optimizes its overall performance, and the Humbucking voice bovine prevents electromagnetic interference.
Robustly manufactured and elegantly designed, inspired by a waveform, the BP40 model exhibited by Audio Technica provides clear and articulated reproduction. The capsule's optimized location maintains an imposing vocal presence, and the multi-layered windshield provides superb internal filtering of occlusive sounds. The microphone also includes a switchable 100 Hz high-pass filter to further increase protection against occlusive sounds.
Its technical specifications include: frequency response of 50-16,000 Hz, gradual attenuation of bass of 100 Hz, 6 dB/octave, open circuit sensitivity of 48 dB (3.9 mV) re 1V at 1 Pa and impedance of 450 ohms. It also weighs 632 g (22.3 oz) and its dimensions are 164 mm (6.45") long and 56 mm (2.20") in diameter.
