After working for different companies in the audiovisual industry, he decided to found his integration firm. This is Bruno Bucchianeri's story in the AV industry.
Richard Santa
From his childhood, Bruno Bucchianeri was marked by a fascination with technology, cinema and science fiction. He remembers how films like Back to the Future impressed him, seeing in them a future full of technological advances that would transform human communications.
This interest in the future led him to study Electronics Technician, and over time he obtained the CTS certification in 2015, for that uncommon moment in Argentina. With more than 18 years of experience in the audiovisual industry, Bruno Bucchianeri has held a variety of roles in different companies.
He began his career at Autotrol, where he worked for six years and specialized in the installation of rear-projection video walls, advancing to coordinate projects. Subsequently, he spent five years at ICAP Argentina as a technical leader and project manager, and one year at Seal Telecom as a Project Designer.
In 2019 he founded Expex – AV Technology. Coming from the technical sector, Bruno Bucchianeri was faced with the challenge of balancing the commercial side of the business, and through his innovative vision and user-focused approach, Expex grew rapidly, standing out in the market.
Track record in the industryBruno Bucchianeri's link with the audiovisual industry began when, at the age of 22, he joined Autotrol. There he had the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, such as LED screens in soccer stadiums, where he participated in the installation of the first screens of this type in Argentina.
During this project, he had the privilege of learning from Lucas Crantschaninov, who at the time was practicing as a Barco specialist, and became a key figure in his career. This work taught him that technology not only transforms spaces, but also human interactions.
From that moment, Bruno Bucchianeri was positioned in roles of responsibility, and his technical approach led him to create Expex, where he now advises, designs and implements innovative solutions such as AV Technology Advisor. Your typical day starts early, with project review, customer support, and coordination with your team, making sure that each solution is not only technologically advanced, but also offers an enriching user experience.
A memorable anecdote that marked his way of seeing the audiovisual industry occurred when he tried to buy technological equipment and realized that he could not try it before buying it. This incident inspired him to create an "Experience Center" at Expex, where customers can test solutions in a real-world environment before making decisions. This initiative transformed the way the company interacts with its customers, focusing on hands-on experience of technology.
Challenges and challenges as a leader
Bruno Bucchianer's main challenge in his role as a leader and manager is to keep up with technological advances in a constantly changing sector. The convergence between audio-visual and information technologies (AV and IT) forces us to understand how each new trend impacts the industry.
However, his biggest personal challenge is balancing strategic vision with developing his team. "If the team grows, the company grows," says Bruno Bucchianeri, highlighting the importance of delegating, trusting and offering autonomy so that each member of the team evolves within the company.
The future of AV in Latam and Argentina
According to Bruno Bucchianeri, the audiovisual industry in Latin America is experiencing an unprecedented boom. The digitization of workspaces, the growth of hybrid work, and the need to improve business communication have led to increased demand for AV solutions. In Argentina, despite the economic challenges, companies continue to bet on technology as a competitive differential.
The future of the industry is moving towards more integrated, intuitive and user-experience-centric technologies. In this sense, AV solutions are no longer seen as a luxury, but as a strategic investment to improve productivity and collaboration within companies. Flexible and connected spaces, which integrate automation and collaborative tools, are becoming increasingly common in corporate and educational environments.
When Bruno Bucchianeri started working in the audiovisual industry, technology was seen more as an aesthetic complement than as an essential tool. Today, technology is recognized as the pillar on which modern workspaces are built.
The integration of AV systems in offices, schools, and other environments has become a fundamental factor for the daily operation of any organization. The convergence of technology, automation, and collaborative solutions has transformed the landscape, and this change will continue to evolve in the coming years.
The family and the companyBruno Bucchianeri shares his life with María de los Ángeles (Angie), who in addition to being his partner in life, is a key pillar in Expex, managing talent and culture within the company.
Together they have two children, Martina (9 years old) and Renzo (5 years old), with whom she enjoys her free time to the fullest. Whether watching movies with homemade popcorn or playing video games as a family, these moments are fundamental in their life. Although soccer does not take up most of his time, he is a fan of Club Atlético River Plate, and follows his team whenever he can.
Bruno Bucchianer's commitment to innovation and his focus on user experience have marked his career and the growth of Expex, positioning himself as a benchmark within the audiovisual sector.
