Constant development

With a sustained growth of visitors and exhibitors, the third version of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Mexico was held, an event that once again demonstrated the industry's interest in training and innovation.

By Richard Santa

To continue the current levels of growth of the Mexican audiovisual industry in the coming years, it must innovate and be in constant training. It is precisely these two spaces that TecnoMultimedia InfoComm offers and that made their event in Mexico a success.

And everyone, both exhibitors and visitors had a purpose, to seek innovation, the same that could be found in each of the stands of the more than 45 exhibiting companies.

And precisely one of the most outstanding was the company Licoma, which had on display a sphere for advertising and the activation of products that resembled the waiting for mirrors that were used in nightclubs in the 60s, but this time with screens 56 screens of 30 by 40 centimeters and HD quality.

"Licoma has a group of designers who are constantly researching to innovate with new equipment and systems available to generate new applications for their customers. The sphere we have at the fair allows us to project any type of content, including linking to social networks in real time," explained Marianela Grajeda, representative of Licoma.

Another case of innovation among the exhibitors of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm was the one presented by the company Omágica, which was exhibiting new applications for its Watchout system by projecting on a dome that covered the entire ceiling of its stand and which required the use of five projectors to generate the entire image. Adela Kriland, representative of the company, explained that the dome is part of the new projection modalities.

These are just two examples of the many that could be counted. In each stand attendees could find novelties in screens, amplification systems, microphones, conference rooms, among the many other areas covered by the audiovisual industry.

Constant growth
The event, held between August 21 and 23, continued with the growth it has shown in its three versions, both in the number of attendees at the conferences and exhibitors and visitors to the commercial exhibition. And it is that during the three days of the fair attended 3,142 visitors, surpassing in a high percentage the 2,070 who attended last year.

In this regard, Rodrigo Casassus, director for Latin America and the Caribbean of InfoComm, said that "We are happy because this year the fair has grown by 30% and the stands have flourished. Today we are already talking about an international fair, with many foreign manufacturers".

Latin America has been one of the markets with the highest growth expectations around the world, on par with Asia. In fact, the growth of the AV industry between 2012 and 2015 is expected to be 13.5% per year, that is, 50% in three years, which is incredible, we are on the crest of the wave at the moment.

Rodrigo Casassus added that "Among the countries that will influence the regional growth of the industry in the coming years are Mexico,  Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia. In general, all the countries that are doing their homework properly are walking very strongly."

In the academic part of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Mexico, in addition to the master conferences of the association, there was a series of talks with a hotel approach, which was well received by all, since the exhibitors are interested in the trained end users and they are interested in learning more and more.

Digital Signage Adwards Award
The third version of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Mexico, also served as the stage for the second installment of the Digital Signage Adward, delivered by the Mexican Association of Digital Signage and with the support of AVI LATINOAMÉRICA.

The director of the Association, Cristian Mecalco, explained that the winner was the company Kolo, for the installation of the curved digital signage screen for the Bancomer bank, 22 meters long by 2.5 meters high and that included a series of divisions in which several ATMs were embedded.

We are already working for the fourth version of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Mexico, which will be held from August 20 to 22 at the World Trade Center.
