A strategic AV investment for business

Colombia. Today's boardrooms must be highly efficient because the business world requires saving time, presenting ideas effectively and in real time, innovating in the dynamics of work meetings and collaborating remotely to make operational, tactical and strategic decisions.

That is why for these applications the right devices are necessary and, above all, a good audiovisual design as recommended by Leonardo Trillos, consultant in audiovisual systems and external advisor of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm, the leading event in Latin America of the AV industry (audio and video).

Trillos assures that the range of economic losses due to the bad audiovisual design of a boardroom, ranges between 25% and 80% of the investment proposed in technical infrastructure for the physical space, because to correct problems, either in the design or in the implementation, additional equipment and actions not initially contemplated are required, thus requiring, in many cases, to implement a communication system or platform different from the one already integrated, that is, to start from scratch.

"This is the importance of creating a culture of audiovisual integration that is appropriate and inspired by the technical standards validated by ANSI/ISO. Thus avoid building a project on a chain of errors by not taking a logical route in the face of the communication needs of a company, and above all, for example, not knowing the expectations and foolishness of the end user who is going to use or consume AV technology in this new space, "says Trillos.

In order to update themselves and avoid this type of wrong decisions, those interested in the AV market for corporate purposes, will be able to visit the seventh version of the TecnoMultimedia InfoComm fair that takes place in Bogotá, in Corferias, which will present hundreds of innovative products for audiovisual communications within any company regardless of its size, as well as technological solutions from the most prestigious brands worldwide.

TecnoMultimedia InfoComm reflects the global growth of this audiovisual market, which has generated an increase in the country along with the construction of new corporate spaces, especially in Bogotá and Barranquilla. This trend is evidenced in the second quarterly report of Camacol 2016, which reveals that of the total area under construction in Colombia during that period, 67.1% corresponds to housing while the remaining 32.9% to different segments, including corporate.

How much does a boardroom cost?
According to Trillos, this boom in the country has led to stratifying workspaces that are measured based on their function or use and the size of the investment to place the space on point. In the first instance, there are the spaces of collaboration against third parties that are used by suppliers or business allies. These are small, practical and are used to share information effectively and agilely; mostly have wired connectivity to a single point, a front screen, and a capacity of four to six chairs. They are in an average price range between seven to twelve million pesos in AV infrastructure per space.

Then there are the boardrooms for members and directors or area managers, which are made up of eight and 12 positions, with connectivity from one to four fixed points and the option of wireless collaboration systems. In this category one or two front screens, a projector and video conferencing systems are used. These are in an average price range from twelve to forty million pesos.

Finally, there are the VIP rooms dedicated to the management or presidencies, with an average range of 12 to 32 chairs. For these, a connectivity to six fixed points is used, wireless collaboration systems and has sound reinforcements, complementary audio system for every two or three people and videoconferencing systems on HD.

Usually, for boardrooms of this category two front screens, video signal monitors, general equipment control platform and light control are used with a price that is in the range of 40 to 250 million.

All these products and solutions for boardrooms can be found in TecnoMultimedia InfoComm in Hall 6 of Corferias, between October 11 and 13. For more information visit www.tecnomultimedia.com.co
