Mexico. La Salle University Architecture graduate Ernesto Armus was appointed by Christie as his new General Manager for the company at its Mexico headquarters.
Armus joins Christie Mexico after four years with Dor Internacional, Christie's partner in that country in the field of digital projection equipment and business products, where he was in charge of sales, distribution and installation of more than 500 movie theaters throughout the country.
"My recent experience working with a Christie partner allowed me to see first-hand the company's unparalleled reputation in the display industry. That is why I am very pleased to join such a dynamic team, and I am looking forward to starting this exciting opportunity to lead the continued growth of the Christie brand in the Mexican industry of film solutions, professional audiovisual equipment and visualization," he said.
Prior to his position at Dor International, he was Operations Manager for Cinemex, a national Cineplex chain. For 11 years he was responsible for overseeing the operations, technical support and maintenance of projection, sound and CCTV equipment, as well as the security equipment of the chain.
From its headquarters in Mexico City, Armus will be dedicated to increasing market share, developing financial strategies and overseeing contract negotiations for Christie's entire family of industry-leading products in Mexico.
