Latin America. Avid Latin America is in full transformation of its working group with the aim of strengthening its commitment to the region. That is why he announced the incorporation into his team of two outstanding professionals: engineer José Calles, as Senior Commercial Manager in the video group for the Southern Cone and Santiago Sanchez; as Account Manager for the professional audio line.
José Calles will be in charge of sales in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay and Venezuela. In this regard, he said that "Avid is in a privileged position to face the technological transition in which our industry is located by being a leading company for many years in the creation, manipulation and storage of digital content with its corresponding distribution on multiple platforms. Jose Calles has a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Technical University of Havana and has worked in technical and commercial roles in different companies such as La Television Cubana, WPLG in Miami, HBO Latin America, Leitch, Harris, Avid and recently in Grass Valley.
For his part, Santiago Sánchez, who will be in charge of the territory of Southern Latin America that includes Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala and Costa Rica, has more than 16 years in the field of professional audio and video and has worked with industry leaders such as Sony Broadcast and Professional, Kramer Electronics, Ross Video and Sierra Video.
He is a musician endowed with piano and guitar (self-didactic), completed his studies in Electronic engineering and Communications at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.
During his professional career, Santiago has worked on high-profile projects such as the integration of Televisa's digital archiving system of historical content (Protele, Mexico City), the 24-bit digital audio recording studio DEMK (Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico) and the news production system and digital historical archive of news content of Noticieros Televisa (Chapultepec, Mexico City). It will be based in Mexico City.
