International. Riedel Communications appointed Jiou-Pahn Lee as R&D director. In this role, he will be responsible for the exploration and development of new technologies and assess their impact on achieving business objectives.
With a clear vision of the industry, it reinforces Riedel's existing competencies on several fronts across all current product families. As R&D director, Lee will be a member of the Board of Directors.
"With product development expertise at renowned technology companies, Jiou-Pahn comes to Riedel with extensive knowledge of world-class product design," said Thomas Riedel, president of Riedel Communications.
Lee's global experience in product development includes 17 years in the UNITED States and nine years in the United Kingdom, working in areas ranging from technology exploration through product development to deployment. Most recently he served as Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technical Officer of Clear-Com, where he was in charge of a culturally diverse product development organization with multiple sites located in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada.
He was previously director of engineering for Thomson, Grass Valley and Videotele.com. Lee holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan, and a master's degree in computer science from Utah State University.
