International. This year, Christie occupied three meeting rooms designed as a showcase in which to unveil the magic behind the throne: Christie's processing power. Visitors were the first to see first-hand the new versions 6.0 of Christie Pandoras Box and Widget Designer and to see in action the Christie Spyder X20, a favorite of all broadcast professionals.
The highlight on Monday was the presentation – for the first time in EMEA – of the new film by acclaimed and multi-award-winning director Ang Lee (The Life of Pi, Brokeback Mountain). Clips from Ang Lee's film, produced by TriStar Pictures and titled Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk (2016), were viewed in 3D, at 120 fps, with 4K resolution and 6P laser brightness.
Christie offers the only projection solution worldwide capable of displaying 3D resolution at such a high frame rate, a miracle made possible by its Christie TruLife platform, with a proprietary floating-point architecture and 1.2 gigapixels per second.
Christie celebrates its tenth anniversary as an IBC Technical Partner this year, supporting the event at several of its locations. Among them was RAI's popular Big Screen Experience auditorium, equipped this year with Christie's 6P RGB laser projection.
In addition, IBC TV used the Christie Merit Series LED, with its 1.9mm pixel pitch, in a mosaic matrix unfolded in Park Foyer. In addition, at the main entrance to IBC, visitors will be able to check the time on a Christie clock that works with four Christie Boxer 4K30 projectors and four Christie Pandoras Box Quad Servers.
