Christie reaches 500 installations of its sound for cinema

International. Cinemex Mundo E, in Mexico City has become the 500th installation of Christie Vive Audio™. With its 19 rooms, the Cinemex Mundo E complex also consumes the joint installation No. 30 of Christie Vive Audio and Dolby Atmos®, under its CinemeXtremo PLF brand, to which is added the first Christie RGB laser projection installation in the country.

"Cinemex focuses on continuous innovation, investing in the best technologies and the most modern facilities. We love to offer our customers unforgettable experiences", explains Rolando Maggi, director of infrastructure at The Cinemex Group. "By completing the 30th installation of CinemeXtremo with Christie Vive and Dolby Atmos, we also included Christie's RGB laser projection technology, thereby reinforcing Cinemex's ongoing commitment to its viewers to offer them the latest cinematic technology in our theaters."

"We already have 500 installations of the Christie Vive Audio system, and we are proud to support exhibitors with our wide range of LA and LS series speakers and Class D CDA amplifiers," said Patrick Artiaga, Director of Business Development for Christie Audio. "Christie has developed Vive Audio products specifically to help filmmakers achieve their creative goals and exhibitors meet their performance and result requirements."

On January 18, Christie offered a technology demonstration at the Universal CityWalk AMC Theatre complex in Universal City, California. With 19 rooms, Universal CityWalk AMC offers its viewers Christie 4K RGB laser projection and Christie Vive Audio sound with Dolby Atmos in all rooms.

With its introduction of the world's first parabolic linear matrix, Christie's innovative Vive Audio product line is designed and manufactured specifically for the cinematic environment. The Christie Vive Audio system delivers an extraordinarily accurate sound experience, maximizes the dynamic range of DCI digital cinema audio, and supports leading formats such as Dolby Atmos® or 7.1 and 5.1 surround sound. Christie Vive Audio offers efficient ribbon driver technology and a unique single boxed linear matrix design, ensuring exceptionally uniform coverage in room types. The system is rapidly making its way around the world as the next standard in immersive sound for cinema.

Christie reviews a year of worldwide success with Vive
A reputation that Christie Vive Audio continues to cement around the world. The proof is that it is already installed in cinemas in 34 countries, a success that confirms the support it gives to 15 Dolby Cinema installations around the world, such as the Dolby Vine research and development facility in Hollywood.

The usefulness of Christie Vive Audio is not limited to movie theaters. It is currently also installed in educational centers, such as the Film School of the University of Southern California or Morehouse College, and in numerous places of worship.

Rod Stoddard, President of Christian Sound Services, said: "Christie Vive Audio's ribbon driver technology and effective linear matrix design offer exceptional coverage and great clarity in dialogue, making it the best sound system for temples and houses of worship in our client portfolio. Thanks to its efficiency, with fewer speakers we offer better results and a clearer sound."

Post-production studios such as Mocha Chai Laboratories (MCL), Singapore's first fully integrated film lab, benefit from the Christie Vive Audio cinema sound system. MCL updated its state-of-the-art dubbing room incorporating Vive Audio, thus ensuring the best audio capabilities for cinema in its post-production tasks.
