In Argentina, the first forum on IoT and AI was held

Argentina. Argentina became the venue of the "First Forum on Artificial Intelligence and IoT in Smart and Sustainable Cities in Latin America", which was held in the City of Buenos Aires. On the first day of the event, the Minister of Modernization, Andrés Ibarra; the Secretary of Information and Communications Technologies, Hector Huici; and the vice president of Enacom, Silvana Giudici; among others.

This meeting organized jointly by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Ministry of Modernization, aimed to discuss the role of Artificial Intelligence and IoT (Internet of Things) to shape more adaptable and sustainable cities, addressing urban challenges in order to improve the quality of life of people.

During her participation, the vice president of Enacom, Silvana Giudici, said: "With the advances in the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence we try to make life easier for citizens and bring them closer to the State through the provision of services and, thus, enable a greater number of procedures at a distance so that they do not have to replicate paper procedures in any agency." In addition, he added: "They also serve for other fantastic developments that, through the Ministry of Modernization, are already a reality such as telemedicine, virtual medical history and remote medical consultations."

The forum was attended by different specialists such as urban planners, engineers, designers, policy makers, government officials, regulators, academics and regulatory experts from around the world.

In addition, representatives of international organizations such as UNESCO, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Inter-American Telecommunications Commission (CITEL), the Regional Technical Commission on Telecommunications (COMTELCA) and the Inter-American Association of Telecommunications Companies (ASIET) attended.
