Latin America. Distributor Almo Professional A/V has acquired certain assets of Insteo, Inc., a creative company specializing in digital signage content that programs and designs content for digital signage, and then provides tools to manage daily changes in the cloud. As part of the acquisition, Almo's content creation team is led by Jim Nista, a pioneer of digital graphics design and founder of Insteo.
As a result of this acquisition, which is effective immediately, Almo Pro A/V is now able to offer the most comprehensive offering of digital signage content services available through any distributor in the industry.
According to Sam Taylor, Executive Vice President and COO of Almo Professional A/V, "The acquisition of Insteo allows us to greatly advance what we can offer our partners in terms of expanded platforms, including Insteo's proprietary cloud signage. Almo partners can also customize their content for each installation and at the start of each project, based on size, scope and budget."
He added that the acquisition geographically extends Almo's reach as well. "In addition to the U.S., these services can be accessed in Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean, and we have expansion plans. Through Jim Nista's vision and success as founder of Insteo, this acquisition solidifies our leadership role in the creative content arena with new platforms and other exciting developments on the horizon."
Jim Nista brings a rich history in content creation to Almo, having worked as Creative Director for a wide range of clients. In 2002, Nista founded a digital marketing agency, which quickly began taking on software development and digital signage projects and became Insteo, Inc., a leading provider of HTML5-based creative content.
Nista is a member of the Digital Signage Expo (DSE) Content Advisory Board and collaborated on the development and presentation of the Digital Signage Content and Media Expert (DCME) content certification program. As a result of Nista's creative leadership, Insteo has received 11 DSE Apex awards in gold, silver and bronze.
