Audio-Technica joins Playing For Change

Latin America. Audio-Technica joined as a global sponsor of Playing For Change (PFC), a global movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born out of the common belief that music has the power to break down barriers and bridge the gap between people.

The main goal of Playing For Change is to record and film musicians in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power into innovative videos known as Songs Around The World.

In addition, Audio-Technica's sponsorship also extends to the Playing For Change Band and the Playing For Change Foundation, a 501(c)3 independent global non-profit organization dedicated to creating positive change through music and arts education. The foundation develops and funds school music programs in underserved communities around the world, offering free music, dance and language classes that combine cultural traditions with technology.

As the exclusive sponsor of Playing For Change microphones and headphones, Audio-Technica will provide global support and equipment to PFC and the PFC Band, as well as promote PFC at events throughout the year. Audio-Technica will also donate microphones and hearing aids to the PFC Foundation in its efforts to help underserved communities.

Phil Cajka, president and CEO of Audio-Technica U.S., stated, "Playing For Change represents the ways in which music unites us around the world. We are proud to support their initiatives and look forward to promoting their efforts throughout the year."

Mark Johnson, CEO/co-founder of Playing for Change CEO/Co-Founder, said: "We are very pleased that Audio-Technica has joined our ongoing mission. Much of what PFC does involves picking up sound outdoors, a task for which Audio-Technica's microphones and headphones are perfectly prepared. In addition, Audio-Technica understands that music is for people, that it constitutes our language and universal heritage, and that it must be preserved and valued. We look forward to working closely with A-T and together to demonstrate that there is great sound everywhere."
