Latin America Epson received the 2018 Good Design Award for a total of eight products: three projectors, four printers and a scanner. This award is given once a year to those teams that by their design benefit and enrich the lifestyle of people and society in general.
The LightScene EV-100 / EV-105 projector was one of the awardees. This model was designed for video projectors that are used in presentations with great lighting, product videos or exhibitions in shopping centers and museums. To better show the attraction of the product or display, Epson focused on a simple design that blends in with the environment while being clean, as the holes and side cables were removed from the product.
Vents, which are necessary in any projector, were hidden as indentations in the front and rear of the unit. The cylindrical shape, created to resemble a spotlight, allows the projector to be installed on the ceiling and thus not affect the environment.
"These projectors with round design are peculiar and attractive. In a place like a mall, they look more like rail lights than projectors. We liked the meticulous simplicity of the form. Projectors generally have a functional look, but these products have an elegant design that leaves a fresh and distinct impression," the jury commented.
