Latin America. During ISE 2019, Biamp launched a solution from start to finish. Before they had Tesira, a processing of the central part of the sound system and some microphones. Now they presented two new formats of microphones, the same applications that the line of microphones had but with the possibility of mounting them on the ceiling or on the table.
They also presented new PoE+ amplifiers, new speakers both ceiling and hanging, and amplifiers of greater power, of 1,400 or 2,400 w each.
Martín Bonsoir, manager of applied engineering at Biamp, explained to AVI LATINOAMÉRICA that the company's idea is to provide a solution from the microphone to the speaker, all using category 5 cable and that is an automated process, and the configuration that is as simple as possible.
"Tesira is a media distribution and processing system, not just audio. And with Tesira Lux, announced last year, they introduce video inputs and outputs within the Tesira system. Once these signals are inside the system, they are handled in the same way as the audio, plus the possibility of encoding the video to send it over networks at different bandwidths," he said.
He added that Biamp had no speakers. It had a single microphone and the performance of the amplifiers was reduced. What they are looking for today is to give the integrator the convenience of using Biamp from start to finish, with a single configuration software, a single system with which to work.
"Another new topic for Biamp is the launch of an audience engagement system. It allows the audience to download an app to the phone, and within the event they can use their phone as a wireless microphone to ask questions or exit through the system. It is something totally different and new for Biamp, aimed at events, universities, presentation rooms, any type of application in which it is necessary for the audience to have the floor for a moment, to avoid passing wireless microphone between people, "said Martín Bonsoir.
