BenQ launches voice-activated interactive flat panels

Latin America. BenQ has enhanced its Premium RP Series of interactive flat panel displays (IFPs) with voice control powered by AWS. By directly integrating AWS with BenQ's Saffi voice assistant technology, RP Series IFPs use a voice-enabled remote control that simplifies instructional tasks and introduces more flexibility into the classroom.

Voice capability is available as an Amazon skill and you can conveniently access the features of the Premium RP series through simple voice commands. Perfectly suited for active learning classes, the voice-activated 4K UHD IFP line includes the 65" RP6501K, the 75" RP7501K and the 86" RP8601K. A quick firmware update is available to integrate Saffi to the units that already exist in the market.

AWS-activated voice activation
With reliable AWS reliability built into BenQ's Saffi remote, Premium RP Series IFPs enhance the interactive experience and collaboration technologies that were honored with TCEA's 2019 Best of Show award. Once the Saffi skill is enabled, staff can simply access the extensive flat panel menus via voice to facilitate operation. In addition, they can play specific content on the screen, switch modes and more without having to be next to the panel, saving time and making the operation smooth, fluid and fun.

Built for effective collaboration
Using the latest cloud collaboration capabilities, premium IFPs offer best-in-class tools for secure interactivity. When combined with BenQ's EZWrite 5.0 platform, IFPs become a hub for sharing ideas, notes and opinions.

Participants can capture images of the screen and annotate the screen from their devices, regardless of their location. In addition, files can be downloaded and uploaded to cloud services, such as Google Drive and Dropbox, directly from the screen without the hassle of connecting USB cables and other devices.

IFPs also come with dual pens that allow two users to write or draw simultaneously with different colors. Within Brush Mode, participants can also use a physical brush to merge technology and art. With the handwriting recognition feature, IFPs instantly convert typed text, numbers, shapes, and drawings into easily readable digital text without having to switch modes.
