Shure launched Twinplex for the film, theater and TV markets

Latin America. Shure introduced TwinPlex, its new line of flap microphones and omnidirectional subminiature (5mm) headband microphones. TwinPlex was designed to withstand the harshest conditions and achieve natural audio, both at high and low frequency, when professional vocal performance is really a must.

The new technology of this capsule offers unsurpassed sound in an easy-to-hide microphone, ideal for quick costume changes or to place them discreetly under clothing without affecting the sound quality. TwinPlex was developed with the input of leading audio professionals and can be used to meet the diverse needs of theater, broadcast, film, television and corporate presentations, in order to achieve high-quality audio production with superior reliability.

The TwinPlex Line consists of four lapel microphones (TL45, TL46, TL47, TL48) and an ultra-light, fully adjustable headband microphone (TH53) in various colors and with a wide range of accessories and options. The unique dual-diaphragm omnidirectional design produces extraordinary off-axis consistency and low noise that create completely natural vocal clarity and warmth.

To simulate years of heavy use, we've bent, stretched, and pulled the TwinPlex's ultra-thin cable to the absolute limit in internal testing. The paintable cables are available in 1.1mm and 1.6mm options and are immune to twists and memory effects, resulting in unprecedented flexibility performance thanks to an innovative spiral construction with redundant shielding.

TwinPlex is ideal for unpredictable and very demanding environments such as the cinema or a reality TV. During its development and field tests it was tested to the limit in order to guarantee impeccable audio, regardless of the condition in which it is located. The super-hydrophobic coating and interchangeable, sweat-resistant frequency caps prevent perspiration and moisture from affecting sound, while the cable technology adapts to the design of clothing and the prolonged uses often required of this type of production.
