Latin America. Datapath has released the latest version of its WallControl 10 video management software, which includes a number of user-driven enhancements to improve source identification, simplify asset management and reuse, and provide greater control of available sources.
The latest developments provide a new on-screen display (OSD) feature, which allows users to identify displayed fonts at a glance by adding text labels to their source windows. This is especially useful in the control room and security environment where sources may appear similar at first glance (such as CCTV camera feeds or cropped sections of an app). The OSD feature also allows users to include dynamic variables in their tags, such as source name, time/date, frame rate, and resolution.
To further differentiate fonts and their boundaries on the video wall, users can now overlay colored borders on the content (for Vision and SQX card fonts) and add frames around any displayed window.
Banners and asset management
With the latest version, WallControl 10 Pro now includes support for creating banners to display on the video wall. Users specify the banner text, either by manually entering or specifying an RSS feed, the direction of scrolling the text (or setting it to static), and the background color for the banner. Transparency funds are also supported.
Once created, banners can be saved in the new Asset Manager included as part of WallControl 10 Pro, for reuse in different layouts across multiple video walls. Configured windows (with crops, OSDs, borders, and carousels) can also be saved to Asset Manager for convenience.
