AV technology helps in containment of Covid-19

benny sterental, sreenbeamLatin America. After the arrival of Covid-19, most countries implemented drastic confinement measures that sent people home and, with certain exceptions, offices closed. Consequently, the use of meeting rooms, classrooms, auditoriums and other collaboration spaces was paralyzed and all collaboration activity was moved to the virtual world.

"Ongoing projects have been delayed or cancelled altogether. Companies are reconsidering their options to offer a low-risk environment to their employees now that some countries are beginning the reopening process," Benny Sterental, ScreenBeam's representative for Latin America, told AVI LATIN AMERICA.

He added that his point of view on the subject can be summarized as follows:

One of the strategies of companies to reduce the risk of contagion is to implement "contact-less" technology and reduce the points of contact in the work environment. Wireless projection – like ScreenBeam's solution – goes from being a desirable element to being essential in collaboration spaces. This also includes the possibility to turn on the screen or projector in the room without touching the remote control.

Another strategy is to enable open, commonly used spaces such as collaborative spaces where people gather standing and share content on a screen; meetings are shorter and more concrete, maintaining social distancing.

An increase in the use of signage or digital signage as a means of communication because organizations have the need to communicate more frequently and visibly the change in their policies and protocols. Companies can repower the use of the screens that currently exist in their facilities with equipment such as ScreenBeam that fulfills the dual function of sharing content from their devices or deploying digital notices from a content server.

New wireless projection receiver
In the recent version of InfoComm online, ScreenBeam took the opportunity to demonstrate the new wireless projection and collaboration receiver, model 1100 Plus, as well as the Enterprise version of the ScreenBeam Centralized Receiver Management System.

It helps simplify the installation of audiovisual equipment in meeting rooms, avoiding expensive HDMI wiring and allows the input signal to be automatically switched between wireless and the HDMI input port, avoiding the need for a switch.

It allows you to share content from any device natively, with functions of the operating system itself – be it Windows, iOS, macOS, Android or Chrome – without the need for applications, special drivers or external buttons. It has security and communications features that allow maximum flexibility to integrate into the customer's environment, whatever it may be, to achieve excellent performance and great reliability in sharing content wirelessly to the room screen, whether employees or visitors.

The ScreenBeam 1100 Plus will be available in Latin America and the Caribbean by the end of the third quarter of this year.
