Epson signed UN Business Leaders statement

epsonLatin America. Epson has reiterated its commitment to the United Nations Global Compact by signing the Business Leaders' Declaration for Renewed Global Cooperation.

In September, the Business Leaders' Declaration for Renewed Global Cooperation was announced as a new United Nations policy created within the framework of the UN's 75th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of its Global Compact.

In the spirit of renewed global cooperation, the signatories are committed to operating with responsibility, corporate ethics and transparency, as well as to:

- demonstrate ethical leadership and good governance through value-based strategies, policies, operations and relationships when interacting with all stakeholders;
- invest in the fight against systemic inequalities and injustices through inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels of their business;
- work together with the United Nations, governments and civil society to strengthen access to justice, ensure accountability and transparency, provide legal certainty and promote equality and respect for human rights.

In making that commitment, the signatories also call on governments to:

- protect human rights, ensure peace and security and uphold the rule of law so that businesses, individuals and societies can thrive;
- create an enabling environment to serve the interests of people and the planet, prosperity and purpose through the strengthening of international cooperation and national legal frameworks;
- improve multilateralism and global governance to combat corruption, build resilience and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The company highlighted that "As a member of society, Epson takes a strict approach to socially responsible corporate conduct in areas such as compliance, human rights, environmental action, staff diversity and supply chain management. We take these issues as well as other social issues seriously, and we work to find solutions. We aspire to make Epson an indispensable company by practicing ethical corporate conduct and playing a central role in the search for a better world through the products and services we offer."
