Collaboration and hybrid work post-pandemic

Latin America. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many companies found themselves in the need to drastically change their way of working, moving to full online collaboration. In the wake of this, some companies have discovered the benefits of working from home, being more productive than many expected.

Thanks to working at home, other activities that added stress to employees are eliminated, such as the method of transport, travel time, etc. This situation has begun to convince companies to apply a hybrid modality of work, merging hours in the office as work at home.

For this model to work it is necessary:

- Identify the tools that are going to be implemented, it is important to plan their functions and what each one will be used for.
- Have a correct vision of the productivity of employees and projects.
- Check that the tools are being used properly, it is vital to know how to choose the right tools to keep the information safe and take all the necessary forecasts so that they operate optimally.
- Evaluate the company's strategy with collaboration tools, it is necessary to adapt the technology, architecture and network designs towards the simplicity of connection for employees, so that they can stay connected and perform their tasks properly.
- Have a professional growth scheme with opportunities in the hybrid modality.

To correctly choose the collaboration tool it is necessary to assess the mobility and adaptability of the solution, that is, that it is capable of supporting various devices, so that collaborators can access from the office equipment or from their mobile device. Likewise, immediacy is crucial, so that it allows quick access to the internet and effectiveness in the connection and communication of the participants. Finally, the security of the tool is vital, which is able to protect both the information of the company and that of the collaborators and face any type of cyber threat.

The security aspect is important when choosing the collaboration tool. We must take into account that when implementing the hybrid model, employees will depend on security to connect from any device, where and when they choose to work. They will need access to applications and resources, either within the company's premises or remotely. Therefore, the chosen solution must be able to provide security to employees from any device, verify user identities with passwords, defend users from malicious Internet destinations and provide access to corporate resources from any device.

Undoubtedly, the right tools and technology to support the hybrid model are vital in the company's strategy. However, questions remain, what tools are needed to enable workers to collaborate productively and safely? How to choose the tool that best suits my company?
