Miami. When Miami's Joia Beach Club and Rapture Festival hosted "Independence Beach" over the 4th of July weekend, Eastern Acoustic Works' Anna ADAPTive speaker system, EAW, held the party on the idyllic beachside stage.
Prior to the event, venue management called Jorge Tapia of Mix3 Sound Inc., a full-service production company based in South Florida, to design a public address system capable of producing a higher SPL on-site without disturbing neighbors across the bay. Mix3 Sound provided eight Anna EAW speakers, four SBX218 EAW self-powered subwoofers and two EAW RL12 speakers for the event.
"We knew how amazing EAW's Anna system was and how it could be a game-changer for the 'Independence Beach' event, so we presented it to her as an option," Tapia said. "The locals were skeptical at first, but rapture Festival promoter Yusf believed in the technology and us and gave the Anna system a chance. Once the event was underway and in full swing, all skeptics became believers."
"Independence Beach" featured the best electronic music talent of today. The event was headlined by Pablo Fierro of Canary and Burning Man's favorite duo, Sabo & Goldcap. "Independence Beach" also featured Miami talents Yusf Osiris and Enzo GD.
Anna is the latest introduction to EAW's flagship line of ADAPTive speaker systems, which provides all the benefits of ADAPTive performance in a high-performance mid-size enclosure. Weighing in at just 135 pounds. (61 kg), the extraordinary production-to-weight ratio makes Anna exceptionally versatile, with applications ranging from small clubs and places of worship to large stadiums and touring productions. Anna's 100° horizontal dispersion and steering capabilities further expand her capabilities.
Anna's columns can be flown as a net or mixed with anya speaker columns, also part of the ADAPTive line, within the same array for even greater coverage possibilities. Like all ADAPTive systems, Anna is controlled by Resolution 2 software over a Dante network and uses the same standardized data and power infrastructure.
"The sound and versatility of EAW Anna was just fantastic," Tapia added. "The place usually has multiple complaints from neighbors at night about the sound. The Anna EAW system changes everything, and this says a lot about how controlled it really is."
