Chile. The 3-chip DLP projectors and the Spyder X20 video processor, both Christie products, have been present at the most outstanding corporate events in Chile in recent months held at the Espacio Riesco event center in Santiago, by the company specialized in audiovisual engineering Projection of Ideas (PI).
This audiovisual company based in Santiago has been carrying out corporate events, monumental projections and fixed installations for more than 10 years, and working exclusively with Christie projectors.
Marco Gajardo, CTO of Idea Projection, comments: "Christie's 3-chip DLP projectors have excellent performance that allows us to work 24 hours a day with the equipment on without any inconvenience. In resolution, they adapt to any need that comes our way, being very versatile projectors for our projects. In addition, its internal software (Twist) gives us a greater number of tools when making adjustments."
Some of the events in which Christie and PI participated during 2014 were:
Banco Santander Convention
For the annual convention of Banco Santander, which brought together more than 300 executives of this financial institution, Proyección de Ideas installed a giant curved screen 80 meters long x 9 meters high that enveloped the audience present.
A Christie Roadie HD+35K covered the central section of the screen, while two Christie Roadster HD20K-J took care of the right side and two other teams of the same model, on the left side, doing blending and warping. All projectors were used in a horizontal position and the total resolution of the projection was 9600 x 1080.
A Christie Spyder X20 video processor was also used to incorporate the technique of picture in picture of multiple closed-circuit camera signals into the projections. All this was coordinated by mamboPlayer, the media server developed by the software engineering department of Proyección de Ideas.
Entel Summit
Entel Summit is an annual innovation, technology and business gathering that had 1,300 attendees. Proyección de Ideas created a multi-projection with five screens in which videos created by this same company with 2D elements and motion graphics could be seen.
The central screen, 20.8 meters long by 4.5 meters high, was illuminated by three Christie Roadster HD20K-J projectors that did warping and blending. The four side screens, with dimensions of 6.10 by 4.5 meters, complemented the scenography and were used for the visualization of the closed circuit cameras; each of them was illuminated by a Christie Roadster HD14K-M.
Niall Ferguson Conference
Considered one of the most important living historians in the world, Niall Ferguson was in Chile to participate in a conference organized by the Adolfo Ibáñez University.
To complement Ferguson's talk, Projection of Ideas mounted a scenography composed of a central screen and 16 panels unfolded in a semicircular way, which created a total projection surface of 32 meters long by 5 high. There you could see four videos created by Projection of Ideas with 2D elements, motion graphics and ambient loops.
The central display, which had a flat surface of 14.93 meters long x 4.40 high, was illuminated by two Christie Roadster HD20K-J projectors blending. For the side screens, four Christie Roadster HD14K-M projectors were used, adjusting the audiovisual content in the panels through the mamboPlayer media server. The Christie Spyder X20 was also used to process the images.
Sofofa Annual Dinner
The annual dinner of the Sociedad de Fomento Fabril (Sofofa) is the most important business event of the year in Chile. In this last edition, the dinner was led by the president of the country, Michelle Bachelet, and more than 1,200 guests attended.
Projection of Ideas displayed a general flat surface screen 54 meters long by 5.5 high where seven independent signals were projected. There you could see videos with 3D elements and motion graphics created by the Projection of Ideas itself. The contents showed the trajectory of Sofofa throughout its history.
A Christie Roadie HD+35K was used for the center section of the overall display. For each of the side sections, two HD14K-M Roadsters and one HD20K-J Roadster were used doing blending and warping.
In addition, two other screens of 6.10 x 3.43 meters were installed to project the closed circuit of cameras, each of which was illuminated by a Christie DHD800 projector with 1 DLP chip. Two units of the Christie Spyder X20 and four mamboPlayer ensured the execution of the event.
