Bose sounds attractions of beto Carrero World

Brazil. Beto Carrero World, the largest amusement park in Latin America located in the municipality of Penha, within the State of Santa Catarina, Brazil, recently inaugurated a new themed area inspired by the collectible scale car brand Hot Wheels.

The sound of this extensive area that includes an arena where acrobatics are performed with real vehicles, as well as an official store and a fast food restaurant, was carried out by the companies specialized in the integration and distribution of audiovisual systems Audio Drummer and Seegma, who, in turn, resorted to the technology and quality of speakers, Bose Professional amplifiers, controllers and processors for project development.

Beto Carrero World is an immense amusement park located in the southern part of Brazil, very close to the Atlantic Sea, which is visited by both locals and people from all over the country and other regions of America, especially those who travel to the coast during their summer vacation. The park is characterized by its wide variety of shows, rides and recreational areas, including water attractions, roller coasters and even a zoo.

"Sound contributes to a better experience for our visitors. Music helps to create magic and generate an identity for each of the different areas of the park," says Jean Fabio Kolm, Audio Manager at Beto Carrero World. "For the project with Hot Wheels, we seek to produce an immersive atmosphere with the help of Bose Professional equipment. As soon as visitors enter this themed area, they immediately perceive an atmosphere full of excitement and adrenaline."

The Hot Wheels themed area occupies a plot of 30,000 m2 and is divided into three large sections: the Hot Wheels restaurant, the brand's official store and, as the main attraction, the Hot Wheels Epic Show, a live show that takes place in an arena with capacity for 3 thousand people. During the show, 14 cars, six motorcycles and a truck perform intrepid maneuvers within a route full of obstacles. The event features music and the voice of an announcer who narrates everything that happens, at the same time that a 65-square-meter LED screen displays images of the cars and broadcasts the actions live.

The sound of this space was not an easy task, because, although Beto Carrero World already has a PA system installed in other areas of the park, the technical team knew that these speakers would not be able to adequately cover the thematic area of the Hot Wheels Epic Show due to the rumble of the engines and the bustle of the thousands of people who would meet at the daily events.

Seegma and Audio Drummer concluded that a modern, resistant and durable sound system capable of achieving high levels of sound pressure would be necessary. That in addition, it offered a clear, intelligible and full-range audio, because it is an open space where public announcements are constantly given. After a first evaluation, the companies decided to form a system with Bose Professional technology and equipment, which would include not only speakers, but also amplifiers, signal processors, subwoofers and drivers of the brand.

In the history of the park there is an antecedent of the use of Bose LT 9702 WR and LT 9402 WR speakers in the same attraction, for more than nine years, with very good results in terms of resistance and sound pressure levels. This helped to decide for Bose Professional and that's how the project began.

"Alexandre Medeiros, Commercial Manager of Seegma, met with the Audio Drummer team and the Technical Director of the park, to plan the implementation of a system that would completely and homogeneously cover each space in the new Hot Wheels attraction," says André Espindola, Director of Audio Engineering at Seegma. "The park owner loves Bose products and sound, and his goal was to improve the listening experience of attendees in the restaurant and surrounding areas of this new attraction. So we started working on a project that would include Bose LT series speakers as well as PowerMatch 8500N amplifiers."

Leading the way
"Sounding three large spaces, in a very noisy environment and with hundreds of people coming and going was a complicated task," adds Osmar da Silva Junior, Sound Engineer at Audio Drummer. "We rely on Bose Professional's technical team and Modeler software to design the various arrays with the right speakers and the ideal location for each, to enrich the attendee experience."

The implementation of Bose Professional systems for the arena where the Hot Wheels Epic Show takes place consists of 14 LT 9403 speakers and seven LT 9702 WR, in conjunction with 14 MB24 subwoofers and seven PM8500N amplifiers connected with ESP Link, all controlled via Dante through a ControlSpace ESP-880 processor and a ControlSpace CC-64 controller.

In restaurant and common areas, where the goal of the sound was to create a festive atmosphere and keep people informed about announcements of the moment, such as the start of a show, 35 FreeSpace 360P Series II speakers, 34 FreeSpace DS 100SE, two FreeSpace 3 Series II modules and three RoomMatch Utility RMU208 sound reinforcement speakers were used, with three PowerMatch PM8500N amplifiers powering the equipment, and a ControlSpace ESP-880 processor in combination with a ControlSpace CC-64 controller as command centers.

The system was divided into seven audio zones, all interconnected through the Dante protocol, with independent configurations that operators can modify according to the time of day, the type of event that is taking place or if it is necessary to give an important notice in a general way.

The end result was remarkable. Thanks to the correct distribution and tuning of the speakers throughout the different spaces (planters, bleachers, walls, ceilings) a homogeneous coverage was achieved with pleasant and clear sound, which, if necessary, can easily stand out from the deafening noise of the vehicles while accelerating, skidding and turning at full speed.

"From the first contact with the customer to the installation of the equipment, the goal was always to meet all customer expectations, with good service and attention. We are very happy to say that we achieved it and now we have a satisfied client who is already thinking about undertaking new projects with us", concludes Osmar da Silva Junior.
