Piedra Iluminación and Chauvet are immersed in new Falabella

Piedra Iluminación chauvet

Chile. The newly opened Falabella Chile Real Estate in the Open Plaza Kennedy shopping center, has a simple, but very ambitious goal: to offer customers a unique culinary experience in an environment that makes them feel special.

The 6,000-square-foot space, which sits on the fourth floor of this elegant center, is on its way to doing just that, serving as home to 12 restaurants offering a delicious array of dishes from Chile and around the world.

While the sumptuous gourmet food of these establishments delights the taste buds, the atmosphere in this open space serves as a pleasure for the eyes, thanks to an immersive and transformative lighting design by the Piedra Luces studio, headed by lighting designer Fernando Piedrabuena. With 150 Chauvet Professional luminaires supplied by Piedra Iluminación, which acquired the luminaires through Chemtrol Chile Ltd., the lighting creates a charming atmosphere throughout the area.

chauvetWidely acclaimed for the lighting of Zaha Hadid's first tower in South America, the Piedra Luces studio has endowed the new open gourmet market with 57 linear meters of immersive light, with dynamic and ornamental content. Adding to the vibe is the music of Soda Stereo producer Tweety Gonzalez.

Regarding the lighting design, Roberta Piedrabuena Project Manager of Piedra Iluminación commented: "We were invited by the Enrique Concha y Asociados de Chile studio and the architecture studio Grupo Arquitectos to participate in this project. They were looking for a solution in the lighting design that reflected the gastronomic proposal, the architectural approach and the scale of the space".

Lighting designer Fernando Piedra added, "Having an experience of more than 30 years in the world of entertainment, we found it an excellent challenge, where we were able to intertwine the lighting of the shows with the architecture."

The new facility is a unique gourmet project in Santiago. A large open space, with glass roof, designed by Enrique Concha, where you can breathe fresh air and natural light enters, located in one of the main commercial crossings of the city. Its lighting system is anchored by 72 ellipsoidal units of color mixing Ovation E-910FC. Using the RGBA+Lime colour scheme of this luminaire, the design team can create a flat, homogeneous and colourful lighting field throughout the space.

Also included in the system are 72 full-color Ovation H-605FC luminaires, which are used as house lights. All luminaires were mounted on two self-supporting bridges with white painted aluminium structure, automated for easy maintenance. Each bridge is 57 meters long and occupies the interior and semi-interior area of the space.

chavuet"Within the characteristics of these products, we believe that the quality of the luminaires was a key element for their choice since it is a fixed installation. The highlight of this equipment was the quality of the lenses," said Piedra.

Anyone who enters this space would agree that Piedra Luces and CHAUVET Professional are part of this new concept dedicated to gastronomy in Chile. The diversity of offerings in the captivating open market is impressive, including vegan fast food, Indian food, seafood, pasta, pizza, bars, among others, all presented in a beautifully lit space.
