ISE. ISE presented its Conference Programme for 2023 in which prominent business leaders, innovators and technology pioneers will address market trends and discuss some of the hottest topics in the VA and systems integration sector, inviting reflection.
New this year, CEDIA will produce the Smart Home Technology conference and AVIXA will schedule the other conferences and new Tech Talks, to provide deep insight into the industry backed by these global organizations. In addition, the conferences will be held in a new space, the modern conference rooms specially designed in the CC4 and CC5 areas of the upper level of Fira Gran Via, which will provide an even better experience for attendees.

Smart Building Conference
The Smart Building Conference, sponsored by KNX, will take place from 10:30 to 17:15. Titled The Best Smart Technology Is Yet to Come, the session will explore topics including lower energy costs, healthier buildings, greater control and automation, and improved work environments. You'll also look at the role of IT and OTs as big data, AI, and digital twin technology change the landscape of network building.
Confirmed speakers include Erik Ubels, consultant; Dan Drogman of Smart Spaces; John Brough of Delta; and Matthew Marson of JLL.
Smart Home Technology Conference
The Smart Home Technology Conference, formerly called the CEDIA Professional Development Program, will be held Tuesday through Thursday with CEDIA offering more than 65 hours of content. This conference covers a wide range of industry trends such as wellness, hospitality and assisted living, as well as hot topics such as gaming, AI and slow technology. Attendees can book a la carte sessions or purchase a CEDIA Pass that provides access to the entire program.
The conference will challenge integrators to creatively incorporate tomorrow's needs into today's business to achieve sustainable profits. Technical sessions will include a deep dive into the design, implementation and management of bass in private entertainment spaces, as well as a half-day RP22 audio and room design best practices workshop that will focus on the target levels of performance that will define the immersive experience. There will be sessions to improve networking, infrastructure and cabling skills for the modern home, WiFi 6 and Power Over Ethernet. The sessions will allow attendees to have the right attitude and execute the right processes to set up a business for success. From overcoming hiring challenges and managing subcontractors to creating a break-even analysis, tools will be shown to maintain a successful and profitable business.
Digital Signage Summit
Co-produced by invidis and Integrated Systems Events, the ISE Digital Signage Summit (Digital Signage Summit) begins on the morning of Wednesday, February 1 in room CC5.1. This C-Level conference will explore the topic of the Power of Pixels and feature digital signage experts, thought leaders and technology and service providers who will delve into hot topics such as the role of digital signage in omnichannel retail, green signage and what's coming for the sector.

Control Rooms Summit
Also on the morning of February 1, the Control Rooms Summit, sponsored by Guntermann and Drunck, will delve into the big topic of data in room CC5.3. There will be success stories and presentations from academic speakers as well as vendors and users who will focus on how to make optimal use of growing data flows to make critical decisions in a timely manner.
The Control Room Summit will also address key questions for the industry, such as how to make the best use of AI and machine learning to generate actionable insights to support critical decision-making; how to get the right information to the right people when they need it; how to visualize this large amount of data in a way that does not overwhelm control room personnel; and what impact this changing relationship with data will have on the role, skills and training of control room operators.
Attendees of both the Control Room Summit and the Digital Signage Summit will also be able to enjoy a networking lunch after the sessions end.
Education Technology Summit
On the afternoon of February 1, the Education Technology Summit will take place in room CC5.3. This year's theme is Connected, Compassionate and Creative: Edtech for a Changing World. The conference will encourage attendees to reflect on the future and discuss the relationship between humans and digital technology.
One of the highlights will be the presentation of Jo-An Kamp from the University of Fontys, who will make a keynote that will invite the audience to reflect on the assumptions and influences that feed the design of the digital tools we use for learning and the uses we make of data to personalize experiences. In addition, we will talk about what the Metaverse could mean for learning.
Sustainability, mental health and well-being, as well as the need for compassionate pedagogy, among others, will also be discussed.
Smart Workplace Summit
On Thursday, February 2, the Smart Workplace Summit, sponsored by Shure in room CC5.1, will explore the newest technology and the latest ideas on strategies for advancing smart workspaces. The conference will also bring together innovators and thought leaders to see how to overcome pandemic-related uncertainty and chart specific management courses for companies, their integrators and their suppliers.
Speakers include Sonal Bisht, Director of Global Market Strategy - Corporate Affairs at HP; Ken Dooley, Head of Haltian Smart Office; John Marshall, President and Chief Executive Officer of Userful; and Lee Styles, Partner at Kromers. Attendees will also be able to hear in person from high-level executives from Google, Zoom, Microsoft and others.
Live Events Summit
The inner workings of the live events market will be the theme of this year's Live Events Summit, which will take place on the afternoon of February 2 in room CC5.3. The colloquium will feature professionals involved in some of the most important tours and live shows of 2022, with an in-depth look at the latest technological innovations that will be presented on stages around the world in the coming years. The conference will also explore the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
Sessions include a behind-the-scenes look at a major world tour; the challenges facing any production in 2023 and a look at how music show environments will change in the coming years, as well as the latest developments already impacting the live touring landscape.
Content Production & Distribution Summit
Another new conference for 2023 is the Content Production & Distribution Summit that will take place on Tuesday, January 31 in room CC5.3. Content production and distribution technologies are becoming increasingly important to the professional AV market, as end users and vendors increasingly seek to create and disseminate high-quality video content for commercial and informational use. This summit will explore the strategies and technologies behind the creation, management and distribution of video content and expose how the power of a story can be shown to the world through the use of easily accessible technologies.
The summit will be chaired by Ciarán Doran, consultant and senior executive with extensive experience in the worlds of broadcast, content production and AV technology.

Tech Talks
In addition to the main conference program, a series of Tech Talks, produced by AVIXA, will also be held during the four days of the fair. These free sessions, which will take place in room CC4.1, are designed to give visitors the opportunity to learn about technological innovations and business developments, with sessions in English and Spanish.
Tech Talks will be led by cutting-edge experts, bringing new ideas, sharing best practice success stories and offering a glimpse of the state of the art at ISE 2023.
Sessions in English will cover topics including the Metaverse and how companies are incorporating it into their business strategies; the use of video games to treat and rehabilitate patients; and the latest in innovative displays of physical presence and immersive experiences. There will also be a series of sessions looking at the challenges arising from the ever-changing business climate, sharing solutions that seek new revenue streams from how businesses can manage, service and market their connected devices to how AV is changing to meet the needs of today's IT and support the needs of digitally transformed businesses in the future.
Tech Talks English
Tech Talks Español's Spanish-language sessions will feature speakers from a variety of organizations and partners based in Catalonia and elsewhere in Spain. On Tuesday, January 31, the AV Cluster of Catalonia will host a conference entitled Stagecraft: the new revolution in virtual sets, with the participation of David Jorba, Alex Thomas and Toni Mena. There will also be a session on IT + AV - Optimization of Solutions and Results. The next day, Blockchain and NFTs in the AV industry will be discussed, while on Thursday, February 2, digital signage specialist Rafael Negro will give a presentation on how to revolutionize the themed restaurant.
CEDIA Smart Home Stage
CEDIA's Smart Home Technology Stage, located at booth 2F350 of the Smart and Residential Building Zone (Hall 2), will host free-to-attend events every day throughout the show.
CEDIA's programming includes topics here such as a look at the future of the smart home, how to collaborate more with other trades or how to learn how to interact with this business association to make the most of membership. Dozens of free talks will be developed, as well as the CEDIA Annual General Meeting and the ISE Stand Design Awards, with a wealth of interesting discussions and learning and networking opportunities.
