Lighting industry will grow 13% annually to 2026

Mexico. If we ask ourselves what light is, a very concrete answer given by UNAM is "radiant energy that has the ability to stimulate our vision"; And apart from being necessary in the physical world, it is also often related to the intellectual, emotional and spiritual.

Light is something very normal for everyone, and we do not realize its importance until we lack it, because apart from helping us regulate our biological clock it serves as a vehicle of information: it sends signals to the brain to know how to act in certain situations, for example when looking for the exit in a dark place.

Having adequate lighting is a determining factor in the quality of life of people, if we think about their residential use, for which it is recommended to take advantage of as much natural light as possible before turning on a switch. And for industries, it represents having the right facilities both for the care of their personnel and for other activities, such as the safeguarding of goods or manufacturing processes, aspects that are governed by official standards and compliance speaks of how serious and professional a company is.

With the aim of meeting the lighting needs of the professional channel, in 1985 began the history of Construlita, a 100% Mexican company expert in professional lighting for commercial applications, in offices, service centers, industries, hospitality, architectural, urban and public lighting.

After almost four active decades, what began as a project of table luminaires of its founder, Pedro Ruiz Velasco, now translates into more than 2 thousand luminaire products, which not only illuminate the spaces of Mexico, but also those of 11 Latin American countries where it has a presence, with its own offices in Colombia and last year entering the United States of America (USA).

"Our raison d'être is to help project managers understand lighting in industrial spaces and large surfaces, to exploit the potential of light from products with high efficiency and thus have more profitable results. Taking care of aspects such as the reduction of energy consumption or the reduction of maintenance costs, through extended useful life solutions, in the end we help industries to have savings of up to 60% in energy billing, and up to 68% of energy savings if LED luminaires are used compared to other technologies "; explains Alberto Mireles, Commercial Director of Construlita.

The importance of specialization and personalization
Starting from the premise that using a good lighting system within industrial spaces is a strategy that will help the success and growth of companies, Construlita has also specialized in understanding the financial and logistical challenges faced by designers in the region, so they go beyond the technical.

In this regard, the great response in terms of developments is LED, a rising technology with important advantages in terms of light quality, energy savings and significant increase in useful life. According to Statista, the global market for LED lighting was worth about $76 billion in 2020 and by 2026 would reach $160 billion, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 13%.

To meet its objective, a key that has helped the success of Construlita is to offer customized solutions, through a scheme that they have called "Lighting as a service", since each project has different challenges and, therefore, requires adequate solutions for any case. In this sense, it is better to understand lighting as an investment and not as an expense.

"Lighting as a Service adapts to the technology that is currently installed or if the project is new. Undoubtedly, optimizing lighting for each area will always be a smart investment, and we have a wide technological offer to cover lighting in all areas of an industrial space for all types of markets"; Alberto concludes.
