Latin America. The pandemic is over and one thing is certain: mandatory face-to-face attendance is a thing of the past. During the preventive isolation we were able to find new ways of connection and communication, making possible more activities in a hybrid or remote way.
One of the most important scenarios in this adaptation was education. In the distance, students and teachers, both from colleges and universities, found that teaching could be diversified and made more flexible.
Although this continues to have great challenges, it is also true that it offers many benefits that improve the quality of life of those involved. And technology has been an indispensable ally to carry it out successfully, offering possibilities that contribute to the development of distance education.
Leading brands in the market are putting their technology and devices at the service of these new educational experiences, with webcams that exceed expectations of quality and realism. We spoke with Aya Xiao, manager of Hikvision in Colombia, to learn more about their offer in this field.
"At Hikvision we have developed webcams ideal for teleworking and distance learning, live video and even team collaborations in training rooms or conferences. All have a lightweight, easy-to-use system that allows you to communicate with others anytime, anywhere at an affordable cost."
But it is not enough to establish communication. The characteristics of the equipment are decisive when it comes to educating from home and turning the remote experience into something of the highest quality, which makes students and teachers feel very close, despite the distance.
Although computers today come with integrated webcams, it is no secret that the quality of these is so-so. A laptop camera, for example, has an average resolution of 720p; And the vast majority of webcams on the most accessible market also move by the same resolution.
But there are some tempting alternatives from big brands, aimed at the regular audience.
Hikvision, for example, has a wide range of webcams with a resolution starting at 1080P, with built-in microphone that allows voice and sound capture up to three meters with noise reduction.
In addition, in its Value series, the image of these cameras offers real color and super wide coverage without distortion. "Our cameras support a wide angle of up to 90°, while the other brands on the market reach only 60°," says the expert. "Additionally, they support 360° horizontal rotations and can be installed on tripods," which certainly offers more convenience when connecting to a long-term class.
Webcams: quality versus price
With current technological developments, having cutting-edge tools at home is no longer impossible. The work of major brands such as Hikvision has allowed the highest quality to go hand in hand with a good price, so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of studying or working remotely, from the comfort of home without losing any detail.
One of the latest innovations of Hikvision is a bar that integrates what is necessary to transmit a class with all the quality standards. Aya Xiao, the brand's product manager, tells us about her X28 all-in-one bar:
"We have developed a webcam with integrated microphone and speaker that can be implemented in classrooms and records the videos and sounds of the place. Its resolution is 4k so you don't miss any detail of the whiteboard, it has smart automatic frames that ensure all participants stay in the center of the image, even if someone leaves or joins. It has intelligent tracking of the speaker according to the voice. It is a fundamental tool for education."
Technological supports like this allow new ways to connect from anywhere to be built, not only obtaining the maximum information, but improving the quality of life in the educational process. Classrooms evolve, teaching methods are transformed, and technology becomes a strategic resource for educators and students around the world.
