Argentina. On Sunday, April 23, the first edition of the IT Youth Fair ended, which aimed to be the window to the future and the possibilities offered by technology for the individual, collective and inclusive development of young people.
The event took place in Tecnópolis from April 19 to 23, with a successful call. The attendance record was during the day Saturday, which ended with the Thunder show, which was attended by 20,000 people and, throughout the day, 45,000.
During the event, the participating public had the opportunity to perform various activities, including: flying a drone, experiencing virtual reality simulators (such as "Pisar Malvinas"), how to make a 3D print, learn about programming and artificial intelligence, play e-sports championships.
"Pisar Malvinas", a proposal by Tecnópolis, the Malvinas Museum and the National University of San Martín, was one of the most visited sites where, through virtual reality, young people could observe the toponymy and listen to the sounds of the Islands, in an experience that recreates their geography with mapping and 3D animation technologies. Similarly, at the stand of the Secretariat of Academic Extension of the National School of Experimentation and Filmmaking (Enerc), children and young people had the experience of feeling inside short films.
In addition, the Electronic Arts Laboratory was another of the most outstanding spaces of the Fair. There, art, science and technology intersect. Technological developments, explorations in the field of programming, biology and physics -among other disciplines- are presented, from innovative and interactive formats that involve the translation of these investigations to the field of digital art.
The varied offer of workshops around creative programming, 3D modeling, sound production, video game development and other fields of computer science and information technologies, make the Electronic Arts Laboratory a propitious space to glimpse possible futures.
With a central focus on digital inclusion, the first edition of "IT Joven" managed to articulate the public and private sectors, to cover the largest number of activities related to software, hardware, production and innovation. The relationship between the two is fundamental to develop new advances in technology and, thus, provide opportunities for future generations.
