Videocorp started 2023 with positive changes

felipe hoyuela, videocorp,

Chile. 2023 began with positive changes within Videocorp, a Chilean company that operates in several countries in the region. Alfonso Vergara left the General Management at the end of 2022, giving way to a new management team led by Felipe Hoyuela, marking a milestone for the company, in which after more than 40 years, those who direct it are not part of the founding family.

AVI Latin America spoke with its new general manager, who added that "As for the business, although we knew that it was not going to be an easy year in the countries that we are present, we started on the right foot and we have had a really good start. Our focus is on overall profitability for the company through the more than 70 projects we are executing between Chile, Peru and Colombia."

Regarding the trends for the industry, he stressed that unified communications have taken a leading role and can be seen both in the requirements of customers and in the large number of solutions that have launched the various brands.

"We found brands that were not directly involved in the audiovisual industry that have launched their videoconferencing systems with high-level solutions. It is definitely a segment where the players and the market shares of each one are being redefined," he said.

On the expectations with InfoComm Show, he pointed out that there are 3 key elements with which he would like to find: First, a strong statement of the vision that the different manufacturers have on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This is something that is here to stay and the AV industry cannot be left down.

Secondly, he would like to see brands with solid proposals in cybersecurity. "In an industry that already lives on the network, this is an imperative for the development of projects in large clients. Finally, energy efficiency is something very relevant in the face of the differentiation of integration proposals and it will be mandatory to take it into account in the long term".

To conclude, Felipe Hoyuela pointed out that "2023 is a year to consolidate all the efforts we have made in recent times together with our entire team. Our goal is to grow around 20% over 2022, which is not easy as this was a good year for us. We're looking not just to keep doing great business, but good business."
