The announcement was made as a result of reduced sales and an appreciation of the yen that deteriorates its income abroad, in addition to the company facing rising costs due to the closure of plants and other measures that aim to restructure it.
According to the forecasts of this Japanese giant, the estimated losses would add up to 380,000 million yen (4,200 million dollars). The report also reveals that sales forecasts were reduced by 9%, the equivalent of 7.75 trillion yen and that the group would close 27 manufacturing plants and eliminate 15,000 jobs, 5% of a workforce of 300,000.
The announcement is in addition to the one recently published by another strong industry peso, Sony Corp, in which it also warned of annual losses.
