
With the purpose of bringing the third dimension of the professional plane to the consumer, the Japanese company has incorporated this technology in several of its products such as LCD televisions, recorders and players in Blu-ray Disc format, computers and video game equipment, which will multiply the ways in which the contents can be enjoyed in homes.
Howard Stringer, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman-CEO of Sony Corporation, said this third-dimensional broadcast will make 3D viewers around the world feel as if they were inside South Africa's stadiums, watching the games in person.
Also in seven cities around the world, Berlin, London, Mexico City, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Rome and Sydney, FIFA will host public viewing events called "International FIFA Fan FestTM" where the public can enjoy and experience promotional previews of the highlights of the FIFA World Cup in 3D on Sony commercial monitors.
