With a training course for Colombian technicians in the installation of home theaters, CEDIA made its arrival in this Latin American country official, as part of the work it has been carrying out to strengthen its presence in the region.
Branden Camp, director of the association for Latin America, explained that this is the first time that CEDIA has held its own training event in Colombia, although in 2010 it supported TECNOMULTIMEDIA, a congress that was held in Medellín organized by AVI Latin America.
He added that for their entry into this country they wanted to do it from above, and that is why they brought Anthony Grimani, an electrical engineer with more than 30 years of experience in the installation of sound for homes.
Among the companies for which he has worked are Dolby and for nine years at Lucasfilm THX, a company of film director George Lucas, which is responsible for issuing the THX certificate for electronic equipment. Grimani has been linked to CEDIA since 1990 and currently chairs PMI, an acoustics consulting company specialized in home theater.
The training takes place at the Estelar Windsor Hotel in Boogotá, between May 6 and 7 and is attended by about 500 people.
