Argentina. To modernize the sound, video and management of 150 of its cinemas distributed throughout the country, the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts of Argentina, Incaa, reached an agreement with the Argentine company of Satellite Solutions, Ar-Sat,
As part of the agreement, which seeks to digitize these rooms, HD projectors, 7.1 digital sound and management software will be installed. Thus, after the end of the intervention, the 150 movie theaters will be able to transmit content received in satellite form with the services of Ar-Sat.
The projectors that will be installed in these rooms will be 2k and 4k with the ability to transmit in 3D and the management system will be able to control what happens in each one.
The two entities clarified that the modernization of the 150 movie theaters is only the first part of the agreement, to which another 100 theaters will be added, which do not depend directly on the Incaa.
This intervention is budgeted in the National Plan for Cultural Equality of the Argentine government, so the company Ar-Sat agreed to deliver the equipment on loan to the rooms, with a schedule that includes 25 projectors per quarter.
Those in charge of executing the project stressed that it will strengthen transmission in all regions of the country and allow movie theaters to have greater connectivity due to the fiber optic networks that will be installed.
