Chile. The Santiago Convention Bureau presented RLA with the "Best Sustainable Practices 2013" award, in recognition of the work they have been doing since 2011 to seek the protection of the environment in all the facilities and events they carry out.
To this work is added that since the beginning of the year they are measuring the CO2 footprint of their events, to analyze their processes and thus be able to work on reducing and compensating it. These measures are replicated in all the countries in which RLA has a presence: Peru, Colombia, Brazil and Chile.
"This award confirms that at RLA we are taking firm steps on the path of sustainability and commits us even more to the challenge of continuing to improve our recycling processes, continue calculating our CO2 footprint, in order to work on reducing it, and compensating for it," Bettina Raffaini told AVI Latin America. spokeswoman for the company.
To reduce the pollution that its processes may generate, the company has been advancing changes, such as strengthening the equipment in the local warehouses of the branches throughout the countries in which they are present to reduce expenses in moving equipment and therefore contribute to reducing pollution.
In addition, they carry out internal campaigns of good sustainable practices to the staff, from promoting the use of bicycles, to saving water, paper, etc. They also separate electronic waste (E-WASTE), electrical waste, batteries, projector lamps, etc. by delivering them to recycling centers that care about the environment.
Bettina Raffaini added that "This award also tells us about how we are as people: concerned, responsible, always wanting to improve, optimistic, creative. These qualities lead us to always be thinking about how we can collaborate with the environment, and that speaks very well of us and our work environment."
