Latin America. 68% of business leaders lack effective tools to facilitate collaboration in meetings. This is the result of the 2013 Survey on the Obstacles to Effective Business Meetings, conducted by Barco.
According to the study, audio-visual equipment abounds in the meeting room, but they don't necessarily play well together. According to the survey, of 572 business leaders in North America, 69% of executives continue to use hard copies of presentations at the meetings they attend, thus leaving aside the use of technology; only 28% of respondents use a presentation device to share their content and 23% use a tablet.
62% of respondents said they face technical problems when it comes to displaying or sharing meeting information and 48% are challenged to effectively share information or visuals during meetings.
While 43% of entrepreneurs stated that the use of technology in their company meetings has increased in the last year, there they also declared to have a wide "wish list" of the technologies that they feel would make meetings more productive.
Topping the list is the desire to use wireless or "wireless" technologies and direct connectivity to the projection screen or LCD screen; this is expressed by 52% of respondents. When thinking about the ideal conference room for their business, 50% of entrepreneurs also want easy connectivity with other mobile devices, while 41% look for connectivity from each participant's place and 38% look for an immediate boot of the devices.
