Mexico. Nearly 100 of the most representative monuments around the world will be illuminated with pink LED technology, as part of one by Philips to raise awareness among women about the risks of breast cancer and the need for prevention and early detection tests.
For the specific case of Mexico, one of the first countries to be intervened, spaces such as the Ministry of Economy, Ceneval, Angel of Independence, Diana Cazadora and Paseo de la Reforma, all in Mexico City, are illuminated.
In other regions such as Puebla, the Fort of Loreto was intervened; in Monterrey, the Zambrano Hellion Medical Center; in Guadalajara, La Minerva; in Quintana Roo, the Vehicular Pass; in Toluca and Huixquilucan, La Torre and Museo Bicentenario and the local offices of Philips Mexicana.
Rachelle Neumann, Director of Sustainability and Corporate Communication at Philips Mexicana, said: "In the Monument Lighting initiative that is part of the comprehensive breast cancer awareness program, we use the power and versatility of Philips LED technology to project a bright light that raises awareness of the importance of timely diagnosis."
Other activities of Philips Mexicana's comprehensive awareness program include, the signing of the Declaration of Women's Rights in Latin America on Cancer promoted by ULACAAM, fundraising with the participation of more than 4,000 employees, which will be destined to the Cimab Foundation to contribute to the education of medical radiologists specialized in the subject, among others.
